Matt Bourke - Managing Director

Matt is the company director and owner of Defect Specialists. He has over 20+ years of extensive technical knowledge and experience within the building and construction industry.

Matt has an in-depth understanding of safety and building codes, regulations, and building inspection compliance requirements.

Matt’s role within the team is diverse; ranging from business development, quality control, technical support and client liaison, to hands-on site and project management. Most importantly, Matt leads and motivates his team to work to incredibly high standards, with exceptional attention to detail.

Matt prides himself on building amazing working relationships with all of his clients. An open-minded approach with clear communication, that is 100% focused on the client's individual needs, enables Matt to ensure that his team is always best placed to exceed expectations.

Matt has a national certificate in carpentry, is an NZQA approved tradesman and is a licensed building practitioner (LBP) in carpentry, site 2 coordination and supervision. He holds an advanced site safe gold card.
